BUG USING A GRAPH - Cr.1 B Investigation an aspect of contemporary life utilizing art and design and Cr.2.B demonstrate awareness of the ethical implications and the use of images, materials, tools, and equipment in the creation of presentation of original work.

 

Using a graph, students will redraw a bug drawing of their choice and then use a dip pen and India ink to create hatching, cross hatching and stippling marks to add value.

MISTY FOREST PAINTING - Cr.2.A  make art or design without having a preconceived plan, using course specific craftsmanship and  create a tree using the technique that shows proportion and weight distribution

 

Students will be evaluated on creating a blended effect for the background, creating trees that fade in the background with a water coat and than a lack of water for the middle ground trees, and finally create snow with a shadow for each tree.  Each tree will also be evaluated to show their representation of a tree that grows thinner as it works its way away from the trunk.

SURREALIST CREATURE -Cr.3.A refining surrealism Cr.2.B tools with prisma color

 

                Students will work as a group of 4 to create a surrealistic creature. The original owner will then use prisma color pencils to color in their creature.  The creature must show detail and value.

FIRING CLAY Cr.2.B firing and quiz

 

                Students will show their understanding of the kiln, firing clay, techniques in clay and glazing. All of these notes are given during the construction of the plates.  However once the clay dries and is ready for firing students are more open to understanding the process.  when building a ceramics piece the students are more interested in getting their hands in the clay.

 

1 POINT PERSPECTIVE ROOM Cr.2.c design a bedroom in 1 point

 

Students will create a bedroom in 1 point perspective with at least 3 pieces of furniture, 3 decorating objects, 1 window, and 1 door.  The space must also show value.

2 POINT CITY PERSPECTIVE Cr.1.A Creative twist in a 2 point perspective

 

Students will create a cityscape using 2 point perspective with at least 5 building, 3 building must show 3 windows and 1 door, a side walk, and a  creative twist that is out of the ordinary. 

FORCED PERSPECTIVE Cr.2.B awareness of tools forced perspective

 

Students will show that they can create a force perspective picture with a camera
